Mid Year Meeting Required Assignment :) Logo
  • Mid Year Meeting Required Assignment :)

Rather than giving this a fancy name, we thought we would just call it what it is: a required assignment that EVERYONE must complete by Wednesday, August 5th. Why? Since this meeting was virtual, we want to ensure that all who watched it know and understand what was communicated, because sometimes it's easy to miss things! In addition, there is a really important training that is mandatory for everyone to complete regarding implicit bias, and how to identify and then act regarding them. So important in this day and age! As a reminder, DO NOT CLOCK IN for this training, and you should not complete this DURING your shift. Take time to do this when you are off the clock and comfy-whether during a lunch break or in the evening snuggled up with a cup of tea, or whatever floats your boat. This assignment will take about 2 hours, so 2 hours will be added to your pay PLUS the amount of time you spent watching the Virtual Meeting. Thanks, and let's get started!
  • Now it's time for the incredibly important part of this assignment, our continued education on Implicit Bias, created by The Ohio State University: Kirwan Institute for the Study of Race and Ethnicity.

This training has 4 modules, and each modules has a series of lessons that last 1-5 minutes. Please start at the introductory video, and complete ALL of the modules completely, with the exception of Module 2, which is optional, as it pertains to K-12 education (though it's still pretty interesting!).

In Module 3, you will be asked to go to a separate website to complete an IAT test to learn what your implicit bias may be. You are required to take 5 different IAT tests, and you wil simply report which tests you took-NOT the results. We do ask that 1 of your 5 chosen IAT tests is "skin tone" or "race."

Last note before you click on the link below to begin the modules, PLEASE OPEN THE LINK IN A NEW WINDOW OR TAB, and keep this Mid Year Meeting Assignment page open. If you accidentally close out of this, you will have to start over, and that would stink. So to access the modules, RIGHT CLICK on the link below, and select "Open Link in New Tab or Window."
