    I am not able to accept payments directly from Medicare patients due to Medicare rules. You should contact Medicare for a list of participating providers. 

    Patients that have Medicaid benefit from seeing a provider in network as it will be more economical.

                                                  YOUR INITIAL APPOINTMENT

     Our initial evaluation is a consultation. At the end of the appointment, we will both decide if my practice is a good fit for you.  I treat most psychiatric conditions and further apppointments may be required for me to complete the consultation and discuss diagnosis and plan. 

     I also collaborate with other medical providers and I can help your family doctor with your mental health treatment. 

     During the initial appointment, we will discuss your needs and goals. If I am not able to meet those needs/goals I will not accept you as a patient.  

     If you do not agree with my recommendations or do not think we would be a good fit, my initial appointment fees will still apply even if you decide to not continue treatment. I will still make an effort to provide you with referral information if needed. 

     If you no-show to your first appointment, you will be charged the full amount for the appointment ($325).

    OTHER IMPORTANT THINGS WE SHOULD TALK ABOUT...

    Federal regulations prohibit Dr. Hidalgo from prescribing controlled substances such as stimulants (like adderall, ritalin, etc.) and/or benzodiazepines (like xanax, klonopin, ativan, etc.) without an in-person evaluation. During COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, these rules were relaxed some. As Public Health Emergency ends (May 2023), we expect these rules to be reinstated.  

    I will not prescribe controlled substances if you are using marijuana (cannabis) or other substances or using sedatives like pain medications (suboxone, hydrocodone, oxycodone, morphine, etc.).  

    Even if you have been prescribed stimulant medications before, I will only prescribe them after a rigorous evaluation and if they are indicated.

                                             FEES AND PAYMENT

    We require a credit card on file. It is stored in a secure way. If later on you need to change the credit card you have on file, you can do so through the Patient Portal. 

    I do not bill insurance companies directly. You may file a claim with you insurance company if you have out of network benefits. You may use the invoices that will be provided to you. It contains all the information needed by your insurance company.

    Though I am not in network with insurance companies, the difference between my fees and the reimbursement from your insurance to you many times is similar to what you would pay for a co-pay if you saw a doctor in network.

    Payment is due at the time of service.
