  • Custom Fit Vs Perfect Fit

    Custom Fit:

A Custom Made/Custom Fit gown at Elizabeth Lee means that we take a series of measurements such as the bust, waist, hips, and various length measurements and assemble the gown accordingly. This creates a significantly better fit than an average bridal gowns, which are simply made from size charts.

While we use Client’s exact measurements rather than measurements off a size chart, unless a gown is made on a client, it's not expected to fit the Client perfectly.

In the event the gown’s design includes a low back, taping should be anticipated. If Client has an allergy or sensitivity toward garment tapes, please be aware the dress might gape on the bust and will not be able to lay flush against the Client completely.

It is also recommended for our Brides with a fuller bust to anticipate wearing a bra for more support.

Please note: Typically, even a Custom-Made dress will require minor alterations and Client is responsible for the cost of any alterations.

Gowns are ordered based on the measurements taken at the time of purchase and agreed upon by Client.

As outlined above in Section 1.3, Elizabeth Lee is not responsible for additional alterations costs due to weight fluctuations.

    Perfect Fit:

A gown that has a Perfect or Tailored fit is one that is made through a series of fittings that requires several appointments with the client during the production process.  The gown is pinned on the client and adjusted at each stage of production.

This process is extremely time consuming on the part of the client and is not something Elizabeth Lee currently offers as our Custom Fit delivers such a fantastic experience.

Custom fit is different from a perfect fit. Unless the dress is made on the client, it's not expected to fit the client perfectly. Alterations is to be expected and the client is responsible for the cost of their alterations.

  • Dress Length and Heel height

    Standard Length VS Custom Length

At Elizabeth Lee, for the length of your dress, you can choose a standard length or a free custom length.

We recommend you choose the standard length for the following situations.

    1. You want to wear xxx designer shoes.

    2. You only want to wear converse or specific shoes.

    3. You want to decide on your shoes later.

    4. You want to wear no more than a 1 inch, 2 inch etc.

    5. You brought your shoes to your appointment and want to wear the exact
shoes for wedding day, your dress will be made in the standard length of
        our dress samples.

That means it will be hollow to hem 60-62 inches. Hemming is to be expected in this case. Usually heming costs from $100-$700 depending on the design, and it is the responsibilities of the client.

If you are flexible with your shoes, then you can choose the custom length for your dress. When you choose a heel height for the measurement of the dress, please know that you are agreeing to be flexible with the heel height of your wedding shoes. When you choose a 2 inch heel, that means you are ok with choosing shoes from 1 inch to 3 inch that will fit the length of the dress without weight fluctuation. Unless a dress is made on you, it is not possible to make it absolutely the length to match your shoes.

If you bring a heel height to your pickup that is different from the range of the dress you agreed to, you will be responsible for the cost of the hemming of the dress. If the heel you want to go with is higher than what was agreed on per our contract, we will not be responsible to lengthen the dress for you.

If the shoes you decide to go with requires the dress to be remade, we will charge 50% of the dress cost to remake the dress for you. You are responsible for the cost of the remaking of the dress as you changed your mind regarding your shoes.

  • Alterations:

Weight fluctuations happen and it is normal. If you lose weight, you will need the dress to be taken in the bust, waist, and hips depending where your measurements have changed. If you changed your workout routine, even if your weight does not fluctuate, your inches will usually shift as you are gaining muscle. This will result in needing alterations. In general 3-5 pounds is the difference in a size.

If you are on weight loss medication, expecting weight loss surgery, or other medical procedures, you could inform our team to get information regarding sizing.

We do offer in house alterations and it will be an additional cost to your dress. Any necessary needs can be addressed when you come in for your pickup/fitting.

Please Note: A bustle is an alteration that is not provided during production. If you would like a train loop to be added to your dress, please note this is not a bustle.

Fine tuning and tapering alterations of the gown will likely be needed and are the sole responsibility of Client. ELIZABETH LEE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF ANY ALTERATIONS.

  • Pickup:

Elizabeth Lee will notify Client when their order has arrived.

Orders must be picked up within thirty (30) days after after the initial contact of Elizabeth Lee. On the thirty-first (31st) day after initial contact and not picked up a 25.00 holding fee will occur per week whether it is 1 day or 7. After 60 days, the gown, along with any accessories will be considered forfeited and thus become the property of Elizabeth Lee.

NO REFUNDS WILL BE PERMITTED FOR FAILURE OR REFUSAL TO PICK UP.

  • Extra Fees:

    Rush Order Fees:

In the event the requested completion date is earlier than the necessary six (6) to eight (8) month production timeline, then a rush fee of ten to twenty percent (10-20%) of the total cost of the order will be added. The fee amount will be at the discretion of the Head Designer that approves the rush order.

Please note Elizabeth Lee must consider Client’s design, sourcing materials, production capabilities, holidays, and other variables.

    Gown Change Fees:

Final charges incurred for the change(s) to the gown during any point of production will be at the discretion of the Head Designer and due upon the change approval by said Head Designer.

Typical Gown Change Fees are as follows:

Pre-production: Changes to the gown during this time will incur additional fees at the discretion of the Head Designer.

Production: Changes made during this time that do not require remaking portions of the gown, typically range from two hundred fifty to one thousand five hundred dollars ($250-$1500), depending on the changes requested and at the discretion of the Head Designer. Post-Production: No Changes will be permitted during this stage of production.

    Fabric Change Fees:

On average, fabric change fees will range from one hundred dollars to four thousand dollars ($100-$4,000), however, the final fabric change fee will be at the discretion of the Head Designer and due upon the change approval by the Head Designer.
