Matted coats and/or excessive undercoats can cause a variety of health problems for your pet. Matted fur does not allow for air circulation to the skin, which can cause hot spots, bacterial and fungal infections, and other issues. Fleas, ticks and other parasites may be lurking in the coat, causing further skin issues. Matted fur also pulls and binds, causing pain to your pet when they move or lay down. The skin underneath can be raw and inflamed. Severely matted coats will require a short shave. We will be happy to show you how to care for your pet’s coat for the future, however, we cannot brush out a coat that is already severely matted due to the stress and the pain it will cause your pet. We may be able to remove excessive undercoat within reason and tolerance of your pet. There is a chance that your pet’s skin will become more irritated during the shaving process. He/She may be nicked or cut because we have to work so closely to the skin to remove the coat. Our groomers are very careful, but the possibility of injury is there, and you need to be aware of this and give us permission to proceed. I hereby release Fetching Ridge Pet Hotel & Spa from any responsibility of the above mentioned process and any and all medical problems that may be uncovered and/or may occur during the shaving process. Should my pet need veterinarian care during or after the process, I agree to pay any and all veterinarian fees for my pet’s care.
If you have landed here, it is because you do not agree to our terms of service, and we are unable to provide grooming services for your pet. Please discuss with staff as to how to proceed.
Beginning August 1st, 2020, we ask that you drop-off your pets for their grooming appointments no earlier than 1 hour before the appointment, and pick-up your pets no later than 1 hour after we have notified you that their grooms are complete. Pets who are left at our salon for extended periods of time tend to exhibit signs of stress (panting, whining, barking, etc) and, in turn, cause other pets at the salon to feel stressed. Our new policy will minimize the time that your pets have to spend away from you and their familiar surroundings and will have them leaving the salon happier and healthier! Please be aware that our operating hours are still 8AM-5PM. We will be unable to take pets any earlier than 8AM, and all pets must be picked up no later than 5PM.
If this is not feasible for you or your schedule, you will have two options. The first option will be to check your dog into Doggy Daycare for $18. You can choose to have your dog play with friends (or just with our staff if you don't want them ruining their new hairdo) and your pup will be able to go outside for regular potty breaks. In order to do this, we will need proof of rabies, distemper, and bordetella as well as a signed Daycare contract which can be found on our website, fetchingridge.com.
Your second option will be for your dog to be moved to our grooming waiting area for $10/hr. Again, you will have 1 hour to pick up your dog(s) after we have called you to tell you they're ready. For every hour after that, there will be a $10 charge. Dogs in the waiting area will be given one potty break if proof of rabies, distemper, and bordetella is provided. These dogs will not be able to have play time while they are here.
DisclosureBy proceeding, you consent to the use of an electronic contract and electronic record. In order to provide electronic consent, you need any device that has an internet connection, i.e. a computer, phone, tablet, etc. You may receive a paper and/or electronic copy of this electronic record at any point by contacting Fetching Ridge Pet Hotel and Spa by telephone, email, or mail. If you do not wish to sign electronically, paper copies of this contract are available on request. If at any point you wish to withdraw your consent for Fetching Ridge Pet Hotel and Spa to record and use this electronic contract, you may do so by contacting the facility in writing, either via email or mail. From the date of your withdrawal of consent, all terms of the contract will be considered void.
Pre-existing ConditionsOccasionally, grooming can expose a hidden medical problem or aggravate a current one. This can occur during or after grooming. All medical expenses for veterinary care will be covered by the pet’s owner upon signing this contract.
Veterinarian Authorization--Medical Emergencies and Vaccine HistoryThis release gives Fetching Ridge full authorization to seek current vaccine history from the vet you have indicated is your primary veterinarian. If at any point the pet becomes injured and/or ill and requires veterinary care while at Fetching Ridge, we will seek veterinary care. If necessary, either due to the severity of the incident or the proximity and availability of the nearest facility, we will seek treatment at an emergency veterinary facility. All veterinarian costs and expenses will be the responsibility of the pet’s owner.
AccidentsAccidents are rare and we do everything in our power to keep them from happening, but there is a risk of accidents when dealing with live animals. Your pet’s safety and comfort is our number one priority, and our groomers are trained in techniques that minimize the risk for accidents. Grooming equipment is sharp, and this means that problems could occur such as cuts, nicks, scratches, razor burn, skin irritation, quicking of the nails, etc. In most cases, this happens if the pet is wiggling or moving around. In the event an accident does occur, you will be notified of it. If Fetching Ridge feels it is serious and the owner is not on site, Fetching Ridge will seek immediate veterinary care for you pet, and any costs will be the sole responsibility of the pet owner.
Fleas / TicksFetching Ridge strives to be a flea-free salon. Fetching Ridge suggests flea / tick preventative from at least April-November. If your pet has any fleas / ticks, they will be given a flea / tick bath to prevent spreading to other client’s pets. The use of this treatment will add to the cost of any service we provide.
Dangerous or Aggressive Animals and Refusal of ServicesFetching Ridge has the right to refuse any services at any time. In the event that your animal is too stressed, aggressive, or becomes dangerous to groom, Fetching Ridge has the right to refuse grooming services, stop grooming services already in progress, or cancel grooming services at any time before or during grooming. The client will be charged a grooming fee for the services rendered until the point of cessation. This fee will be prorated depending on what services have been provided.
Cancellation / “No Call, No Show” PolicyWe require that all cancellations be made at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment. If a cancellation is made with less than 24 hours notice, you will be required to pay a $25 cancellation fee per pet.
PaymentPayment is due at time of pick-up. We accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and checks. We do not accept American Express.
SatisfactionYour satisfaction is important to us. If you are unhappy for any reason, we will be happy to make any adjustments when you pick up your pet from his / her appointment. If you see something you are unhappy with when you get home, please call us within 3 days, and we will adjust what we can within reason to make you happy at no additional charge. However, after 3 days any return visits will be treated as a new appointment and client will be charged a grooming fee.
PhotographsThis release authorizes Fetching Ridge to take photos of your pet for your client file and for the company website, promotional materials, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and other social media sites. All photos taken are the property of Fetching Ridge.
Grooming Business HoursMonday - Saturday: 8AM - 5PMThere will be a fee of $5 for every 10 minutes after 5pm that you pet is still at Fetching Ridge.
I have reviewed this Service Contract for accuracy and understand the contents of this contract. I affirm that I am the rightful legal owner of the pet(s) for which services are being rendered. I authorize this signed contract to be valid approval for future grooming services, permitting Fetching Ridge to accept telephone reservations or emails for service without additional signed contracts or written authorization. I understand that pricing is subject to change. I have read, signed, and agreed to the terms and conditions laid out in this contract. I understand that a paper copy of these terms is available to me at my request.
