Data Protection Policy

The Data Protection Act 2018 (DPA) (incorporating the European General Data Protection Regulation GDPR from 25th May 2018) protects the rights of individuals by setting out certain rules as to what organisations can and cannot do with information about people. A key element to this is the principle to process individuals’ data lawfully and fairly. In order to meet the fairness part of this we need to provide information on how we process personal data.

TAA takes its obligations under the Data Protection Act very seriously and will always ensure personal data is collected, handled, stored and shared in a secure manner. Our full Data Protection Policy can be accessed here...

- Joining the register is free (although if you have a website and can include a link to our site then that would be lovely), just a few checks first because we simply need to make sure that members fit a few simple criteria. Oh, and we would appreciate you welcoming our students to observe, if you are able, but this isn't a prerequisite!
  
  A couple of notes before we start then:
  - We will add you to our mailing list, unless you opt out, and you are welcome to opt out if you would prefer
  - You need to be a graduate of TAA or CICM (with a note that if you have graduated from CICM, working with the five element model must be your main treatment focus). We will also accept graduates of prior five element colleges: CTA, SOFEA and LIFEA
  - You need to be a member of the British Acupuncture Council, and must let us know if this changes over time
  Entries are kept quite simple, so 'name' (including a hyperlink to your website if there is one), clinic town and contact number. Entries are divided up by county/country, so if you have more than one clinic, you can feasibly have more than one entry in the register.
  
  The other information that we are requesting on this form is simply there so that we can check out the entry if needed. Please be assured that we won't use your details in any other way, or pass them on to third parties!
