  • Get Better Internet Access

There are a number of ways to gain better access to high-speed internet. Mid’s facilities will be open in the fall, and that allows students to use the College’s internet. For students uncomfortable entering the buildings, the College plans to reserve parking lot spaces for students looking to connect from their vehicles.

Mid Michigan College’s library has some hotspots available for student check-out. Request one by visiting either campus library.

You can also use this awesome online mapping tool to discover various public hotspots across Michigan.

  • Get Better Computer Access

Mid’s facilities are open, which provides you access to the College computers in its labs, public areas, and breakout rooms.

The College’s library offers laptop rentals for 48 hours at a time, with a 24 hour waiting period between each check out. You can visit either of Mid’s libraries to reserve one.

  • Getting a Webcam and/or Microphone

If you’re planning to connect in real-time, it’s useful to have a mic and camera (though it’s not necessary). Most phones and tablets have integrated cameras and mics, so you could always consider logging into real-time virtual courses through your device if you don’t have a computer with these features.

You can purchase computer mics and webcams (or combination systems) relatively inexpensively though various online vendors or at local retailers. You can probably get what you need for a real-time course for less than $50. Our HelpDesk team would be happy to help you with selecting this equipment.

Plus, Mid’s facilities are open, which provides you access to the College computers in its labs, public areas, and breakout rooms. Mid’s computers come equipped with webcams and mics.

  • Become a remote learning pro!

We’ve assembled some excellent tutorials, tips, and trainings on our Remote Learning for Students Webpage.

Want assistance that is more directed? We’ve got team members you can connect with if you have specific questions. Our HelpDesk team would be happy to help you!

  • Get connected through your midmich account and email
