A description of each category is below.

Citrus & Fruit – fresh, fruity scents from citrus fruits like lime, lemon, blood orange, pink grapefruit, bergamot, lemongrass (Mostly used as a ‘top note’ in fragrances)
Floral – traditional fresh cut flower scents like jasmine, rose, gardenia, cherry blossom, orange blossom, lily, frangipani, orchid, honeysuckle, freesia (Distinctive feminine quality, but also used in many colognes since they blend well with other scents)
Oriental – rich, spicy, warm, exotic scents that are defined by spices and aromas like amber, patchouli, cinnamon, musk, clove
Green – crisp, lively, sporty scents like cucumber, green tea leaves, rosemary, lavender
Aquatic – refreshing, light, and clean scent like rain, sea glass
Gourmand (Sweet) – delicious ‘dessert-like’ scents like vanilla, caramel, chocolate
Woody – warm, earthy, classic base scents which includes fresh cut dry wood and scents like sandalwood, cedarwood, vetiver, rosewood, frankincense, bamboo, tabacco, oakmoss (Could be perceived as masculine but used in many perfumes as a ‘base note’ due to its longevity on the skin)
