  • Innovative Piano Studio, LLC is a year round school. Our yearly calendar begins at the beginning of September and ends at the end of August of the following year. Your annual tuition is broken into 12 equal payments that are due by the 25th of the month prior.  Innovative Piano provides private music lessons for 44 out of the 52 weeks per year, with an average of 4 lessons per month. Tuition for the first month of lessons must be paid in advance for new and returning students. After the first payment, tuition is due in full by the 25th of the prior month. If paid after this date , there will be a $30.00 late fee billed to your account. There is a monthly $60.00 travel fee for lessons done within Greenville County but not at IPS.  Invoices are emailed on the 10th of each month. Tuition reserves your lesson day and lesson time. You may choose to pay equal monthly installments or you may choose to for the entire year up front. Students paying for the entire year of lessons will receive a 5% discount.  Should something come up where you cannot financially fulfill your commitment to your lessons, advanced notice and open, ongoing communication is appreciated and encouraged!

Lesson books and material is included in your tuition.  If lost/stolen then student’s parent will be invoiced for the second set of books and/or material.   I have the right to suspend lesson if payment is not received by the end of the month and your lesson slot will be forfeited. • What to expect from your instructor:

-Quality lessons given by a trained and experienced teacher who is also a professional working musician.

-Weekly private lessons that focus on fundamentals and technique as well as fostering a love for playing the instrument.

-Organized and detailed practice assignments after each lesson.

     -Direct and open communication

What is expected of parents and students:

-Encouragement through positive words fuel a child’s drive to succeed.

-Listening to music should be a part of a daily routine, even if only in the background.

-Parents should help their children establish a realistic practice routine during the week. You will be surprised at what a child can accomplish with five days of practice per week!

-Students must display a desire to learn and willingness to practice at home.

-Students who enjoy listening to music will enjoy playing music.

-Students must be able to respectfully interact with adults.

-Students need a consistent practice routine that includes reading and completing the assignment details given by Ms. Alicia.

Recitals and different events that IPS is involved in are not mandatory, however strongly encouraged.  I will assess each student and determine what they may be prepared for.  Participation in these events helps the student in so many ways, even beyond musical growth.  The key in all of these events is: Practice!

  • Parents/Guardians are required to be available during lessons (on site or via cell phone). In the event of an emergency, if a parent cannot be reached, you agree that I will be permitted to exercise my discretion in providing care and treatment for your child.  Parents agree to hold me harmless for any such care and treatment decisions.

  • Regular and prompt attendance is required to make appropriate progress. If a student arrives five minutes late, the lesson will be five minutes shorter. If you are unable to make it to a lesson, please call or text me at (864)-399-7542. If a lesson must be cancelled due to an emergency (sickness, death in the family, etc), please notify me in advance so that adjustments can be made and your lesson rescheduled. If a lesson needs to be canceled due to a non-emergency, please notify me 24 hours prior to your lesson time so that we can reschedule.

Virtual Lessons are taught through zoom.  Your code for your the lesson will be sent via text at the top of the day.  If you are not logged in within 10 minutes of your lesson start time, your lesson will be canceled.

Makeup lessons are scheduled according to the studio’s availability. It is Innovative's goal to set aside 1-2 days a month that will be dedicated for make up lessons. You will be given this schedule at the beginning of each month. Even with this adjustment, please be mindful makeup lessons aren’t guaranteed. A lesson has been reserved for you each week. Notification of inability to attend a lesson is a courtesy to me, but does not excuse tuition payment. Should I have to cancel a lesson you will be contacted by email, phone, or text. If we are unable to reschedule, Innovative Piano Studio will credit your account and tuition will be adjusted accordingly.

If you have the following symptoms or have been exposed to these symptoms within a 48-hour time frame, please DO NOT COME TO THE STUDIO:

     • Vomiting

    • Diarrhea

    • Fever

    • Uncontrollable coughing/sneezing

IPS will be happy reschedule the lesson for you during one of the make up times that are available for that particular month.

  • Innovative will be offering classes 44 out of the 52 weeks in a year. The 8 weeks that lessons will not be given are noted on the yearly calendar:

Christmas/New Year (2 weeks), Spring Break (1 week), Summer (2 weeks), Thanksgiving (1 week) , 2 weeks of FLEXtime (to be used at teacher's discretion)

IPS also will not be offering lessons on the following holidays:

Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.

  • Pictures and videos of students may be posted periodically on the Studio’s Website, Facebook and Instagram page. Only the student’s first name will be used. If you prefer not to have your child’s picture and/or name on any form of media, please let me know in writing.

  • It is both the student and parent’s responsibility to make sure that effective practicing is consistent. For beginners, 10-15 minute practice sessions are great.  As your child progresses, longer sessions are recommended. As your child’s instructor, I will give advice on effective and smart practicing habits.

  • Students who wish to withdraw from Innovative Piano Studio must provide written notice by the 15th of the month prior.  If notice is given after the 15th tuition must still be paid for the following month. For example: If a student wishes to withdraw in December, the written notice must be received by November 15th.  November is paid for and the lessons will continue until December 1st.

If you need to discontinue lessons but plan to return during the academic year then you have 2 options.

    1. You can pay 50% of your monthly tuition amount to hold your desired lesson day and time and your tuition pricing will continue to be grandfathered if you're still under old tuition pricing once you return as an active student.

    2. If you unenroll and later decide to return to IPS without paying the 50% tuition payment to lock in your desired day and time, there is no guarantee that you will be able to have the same day and time that you may have had previously. If you have been grandfathered into old pricing, you will be re-enrolled under the new tuition pricing and will be required to sign and agree to a new policy agreement.
