On Tuesday 11 August the #WeMakeEvents - RED ALERT campaign is calling on the Government to ‘THROW US A LINE’ before we lose the talent and expertise that is the envy of the world. Across the country events will be happening to draw attention to the numbers of people and their livelihoods affected by the government closure of the events industry. Our industry was the first to stop and will be the last to return, no sooner than Spring 2021.
Greater Manchester Production & Events Industry companies and freelancers have come together to hold an event outside of London to support the campaign and show this is an issue across the UK. The Manchester Music & Events Industry March will start at 12:00 (midday) on Tuesday 11th August. We welcome anyone coonected to the industry to join us. The march will include a flight case push across a designated route that will pass iconic venues, that are currently shuttered. It will start from Manchester Academy and go down Oxford Road ending up at St Peter's Square.
Flight cases are on a first come first serve basis, so if you want to push one down Oxford Street, Please arrive from 11:15am, to be allocated your case. You will have to push this for approx 1 x mile and be responsible for the case for the duration of the march. Flight cases will be empty.
