THERE ARE 10 (TOTAL) absences PER SCHOOL YEAR (including EXCUSED AND UNEXCUSED)
1st 10 absences can be excused with a parent note.
Excusing an absence DOES NOT erase the absence.
AFTER 10 absences you must present a Doctors’s note.
No attendance corrections will be made for closed grading periods
School transcripts ONLY SHOW TOTAL number of absences.

INDIVIDUAL CLASS ABSENCES CAN ONLY BE FIXED BY THE TEACHER

· Family Emergency
· Personal travel unless it is for immigration purposes (must show proof of appt)
· Car Issues
· Late transportation unless it is the Miami-Dade County School Bus
TARDIES
ONLY EXCUSED WITH A DR NOTE OR OFFICIAL DOCUMENT (EXP:IMMIGRATION, COURT, MOTOR VEHICLE...)
All Doctors Notes maybe verfied with the Physicians Office. Please note that under Florida Statute § 831.07, it is illegal for any person to falsely make, alter, forge, or counterfeit any letter or note from a licensed physician with the intention of deceiving another person.

EXCESSIVE ABSENCES AND TARDIES MAY RESULT IN SUSPENSION OF PARENT/STUDENT DRIVER’S LICENSES WITH THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HIGH-WAY AND MOTOR VEHICLES, REMOVAL FROM ACTIVITIES (EXAMPLE OF SOME ACTIVITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: PROM, GRAD BASH, PEP RALLIES, SPORTS, AND FIELD TRIPS)
