I’m Deacon Jeff Schaff, the STA Adult Ministries Director.    

The first step in preparing for adult sacraments at St. Thomas Aquinas (STA) is to attend the Alpha course. Alpha unpacks the basics of the Christian faith and answers questions such as who is Jesus and why did Jesus die?  The next Alpha series starts on 15 September 2026 and has 9 sessions. The Alpha classes meet on Tuesday evenings starting at 6:15pm with dinner. We meet in Fr. D’ Arco Hall and the evening ends at 8:00pm. To sign up for Alpha, click on the link below.

The second step to receive the Sacraments of Initiation as an Adult in the Catholic faith at STA is to attend the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) classes. In OCIA, you learn the aspects of the Catholic faith, doctrines, and practices which all have the goal of growing your love of God and your love of neighbor. These classes meet on Thursday evenings Winter to Spring each year. The first class for OCIA 2027 is 3 December, 2026. Register today to begin the process.
