Thank you for your interst in the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) at St. Thomas Aquinas (STA) Parish. I’m Deacon Jeff Schaff, the STA Adult Ministries Director.

At STA, there are two key steps in our OCIA process.  The first step is to attend the Alpha course.  Alpha unpacks the basics of the Christian faith and answers questions such as who is Jesus and why did Jesus die?  The second step is to attend the OCIA classes.  In OCIA, you learn the aspects of the Catholic faith, doctrines, prayer, and practices.  Classes began in mid-September for those who will receive Sacraments in 2027 around Easter time.

Unfortunately, the registration window for OCIA  this year (26-27) has closed. The next group to recieve thier sacramets (Easter 2028) will need to complete step one (Alpha) either during Lent 2027 or Fall 2027.

I would like to talk with you about your faith journey and answer any questions you may have.  Please call me at the STA parish office (505-892-1511).

Thank you and God bless you.
