  • 4 days of Progressive, Calm Connected Horsemanship 
    with Mark Langley 

    Format:

    1:1 lessons with Mark each day in arena

    Group riding out possible, depending on group

    (Daily format is flexible to group and individual needs. Lessons may be in a small group or in pairs but individual 1:1 lessons will take place each day.)

    Aborb & Understand sessions in between - you learn from watching Mark approach and train 9 different horses & their riders.

    Work on anything you wish; Mark will adapt what he teaches you depending on what you and your horse need. All methods work on helping your horse to reduce tension; improve understanding; and build a calm connection to you and the task they are on. 

    This 4 day course will cover skills and philosophy to show:

    - How to gain + keep calm focus

    - HOW and WHY to connect with feel - not just avoid pressure

    - Recognise, reduce + manage tension

    - Problem solve any issues as they arise

    - Teach in a way which encourages happier horses

    - Techniques to improve performance, balance, softness + flow

    - Suitable for all horses and riders

    STRICTLY LIMITED to 10 riders so that everyone gets individual tuition

    NO PREREQUISITES REQUIRED - Mark teaches you and your horse based on where you are at & what your horse needs

    Cost: $600.00 (includes 4 nights agistment + camping)

    Daily Program: 8.00am - 4.30pm

    Small group sessions and / or 1:1 tuition sessions. Some people find that they get most out of just 1:1 sessions and so Mark can run the clinic or part of the clinic like this. Your lesson can be out of the arena. Have a think about what might benefit you the most. We discuss the next days plans over dinner.

    Supermarkets in either Gulgong or Mudgee 25 mins away.

    Meals: Group dinners together 7.00pm to discuss the day (BBQ night + pub night)
    Breaks for morning tea + lunch (BYO).

    Camping: Free. Facilities include hot outdoor shower; kitchen area; gas stove; BBQ; toilet; fridges (up on the house verandah); eskys and ice (for milk at the camping area)

    Accommodation: Arena cabins (new 2020)

    2 x single room $20/night (BYO linen + pillow)
    1 x twin room $30/night (BYO linen + pillow)
    1 x guest cabin $50/night (queen bed, house shower + kitchen, power, aircond)

    Horse accommodation: 4 nights free then $5.50/night.
    Yards and medium-large shared paddocks available. We also have a paddock which can be subdivided if horses need to be by themselves.

    Please bring your own feed buckets. All paddocks and yards have their own water troughs.

    Horse fitness: Horses must be reasonably fit for 3 days of work, though each day will have some ground work to give the horses a break. Riden sessions will be 2-3 hrs max.

    Please bring: Something to carry water in on your horse, Suitable raincoat, If you have one, a lunge rope/ long lead rope approx 2-3m, and halter. Approved riding helmet & normal riding apparel, sun cream

    Mark has good quality Australian rope halters & 3.5 lead ropes specifically made for him that he brings to clinics. Pre-order to guarantee one. $44/ halters $33/ lead ropes.

    Feed: Your horse shouldn’t need super high energy food for the clinic, just something that will sustain them over 4 days – eg grain & hay. Remember there will be times where you sit and watch and your horse gets a break in the yards. To avoid the stress of a new environment and food, we suggest that you introduce your horse on the ration they will be getting here a couple of weeks before the clinic.

    New Gear: New gear must be checked for comfort, good fitting and ridden in before the clinic.

    Payments: Pay the deposit now & the rest 3 weeks prior.

    Cost for riders 4 days $600.

    Spectators welcome: $40/ day 

    Option to pay the $100 non-refundable deposit now & the rest later.

    Deposits are not refundable or negotiable. Full payments within 3 weeks not refundable unless we fill the clinic.

    All monies refunded in the event that we cancel the clinic, less $10 admin fee.

    2) I will wear an Australian Standard Approved Helmet and the correct footwear at all times;

  • Tetanus Immunisation It is particularly important that people dealing with horse are immunised against Tentanus. Tentanus is normally given at five years of age as Triple antigen or CDT and at fifteen years of age as ADT.

  • Your participation in the recreational activities supplied by Equine Ability (SUPPLIER) may involve risk. The risks involved may result in personal injury including death. Prior to undertaking any such recreational activity, you should ensure you are aware of all of the risks involved, including those risks associated with any health condition you may have. 

    By signing below, you acknowledge, agree, and understand that participation in the recreational services provided by SUPPLIER may involve risk. You agree and undertake any such risk voluntarily and at your own risk.  You also acknowledge that the risk warning above consitutes a 'risk warning' in accordance with the Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW).

    Exclusion, restriction or modification of rights under the Australian Consumer Law (Commonwealth)

    Under the Australian Consumer Law (Cth), statutory guarantees apply to the supply of certain goods and services, including recreational activities. It is possible for a supplier to ask you to agree that these statutory guarantees do not apply to you. If you sign this form, you will be agreeing that your rights to sue the supplier because services provided were not in accordance with the guarantees are excluded, restricted or modified as set out below. 

    By signing below, you agree that the liability of SUPPLIER for any harm including:

    • death; • physical or mental injury (including the aggravation, acceleration or recurrence of such an injury); • the contraction, aggravation or acceleration of a disease; • the coming into existence, the aggravation, acceleration or recurrence of any other condition, circumstance, occurrence, activity, form of behaviour, course of conduct or state of affairs:
