Clay Berling Media Career of Excellence Award
Criteria
The award is open to members and non-members. The criteria shall be wide-ranging so as not to limit potential honorees and will include,but not be limited to, the following: a) minimum 20 years covering soccer; b) distinguished career as a media professional in the print, electronic, television, radio or other forms of communication; c) wide respect and esteemed reputation from those in the game and from his/her peers; d) impactful work as a journalist that has brought important focus to the sport; e) recognition over his/her career with other media awards; and f) words and action within their work that reflects a keen knowledge of the game, the coaching profession and related issues of the sport and its culture in the United States.
