Also once you sign it you will need your broker to sign to do this...click save, an email will be sent to you to finish completing it, forward that email to your broker and have them sign and submit it.

To the Southwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS®, I hereby apply for REALTOR® Membership in the above named Board and submitting the one-time application fee and dues payable to The Southwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS®. My application fee and dues will be returned to me in the event of non-election. In the event of my election, I agree to abide by the Code of Ethics of the National Association of REALTORS®, which includes the duty to arbitrate, and the Constitution, Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the above named Board, the State Association and the National Association, and if required, I further agree to satisfactorily complete a reasonable and non-discriminatory written examination on such Code, Constitutions, Bylaws and Rules and Regulations. I understand membership brings certain privileges and obligations that require compliance. Membership is final only upon approval by the Board of Directors and may be revoked should completion of requirements, such as orientation and MLS training, not be completed within timeframe established in the association’s bylaws. I understand that I will be required to complete periodic Code of Ethics training as specified in the Association’s Bylaws as a continued condition of membership.

NOTE: Applicant acknowledges that if accepted as a member and he/she subsequently resigns from the Board or otherwise causes membership to terminate with an ethics complaint pending, the Board of Directors may condition renewal of membership upon applicant’s certification that he/she will submit to the pending ethics proceeding and will abide by the decision of the hearing panel. If applicant resigns or otherwise causes membership to terminate, the duty to submit to decision of the hearing panel. If applicant resigns or otherwise causes membership to terminate, the duty to submit to arbitration continues in effect even after membership lapses or is terminated, provided the dispute arose while applicant was a REALTOR®.

• An Applicant must have no record of civil judgments imposed within the past seven (7) years involving judgments of civil rights laws, real estate license laws, or other laws prohibiting unprofessional conduct rendered by the courts or other lawful authorities.

 

• An applicant who has a record of criminal conviction(s) within the past seven (7) years involving a crime that reasonably relates to the real estate business or puts clients, customers, or other real estate professionals at risk, must provide, and the association must consider, mitigating factors relating to that criminal history.

I hereby certify that the foregoing information furnished by me is true and correct, and I agree that failure to provide complete and accurate information as requested, or any misstatement of fact, shall be grounds for revocation of my membership if granted. I further agree that, if accepted for membership in the Board, I shall pay the fees and dues as from time to time established. NOTE: Payments to the Southwest Louisiana Board of REALTORS® are not deductible  as charitable contributions and nonrefundable. Such payments may, however, be deductible as an ordinary and necessary business expense.

By signing below, I consent that the REALTOR® Associations (local, state, national) and their subsidiaries, if any (e.g., MLS, Foundation) may contact me at the specified address, telephone numbers, email address or other means of  communication available. This consent applies to changes in contact information that may be provided by me to the Association(s) in the future. This consent recognizes that certain state and federal laws may place limits on  communications that I am waiving to receive all communications as part of my membership.

ORIENTATION AGREEMENT

As a pre-requisite for membership in the Southwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS®, applicants must attend a formal orientation and MLS training session. I, therefore, certify that I will attend the orientation and MLS training at the next scheduled date. I understand that if I should fail to attend orientation and MLS training within two scheduled sessions my application for membership will automatically be disapproved and all fees will be forfeited/ non-refundable. If I fail to attend or know of a schedule conflict, I must notify the SWLAR office in writing; the second scheduled orientation/ MLS training will be my final date to attend without penalty

Attendance Guidelines

1. Orientation begins at 9 a.m. promptly. Anyone arriving after 9:10 will not be admitted; doors open @ 8:30 AM
2. All cell phones must be placed on silence during class time.
3. Breaks will be scheduled throughout the session.
4. Orientation and MLS training are mandatory for membership and must be completed in full in order to become a
5. Leaving early is prohibited and credit will not be given.

INDUCTION AGREEMENT

As a pre-requisite for membership in the Southwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS®, applicants must attend the Induction at the GMM, and is mandatory.

I therefore certify that I will attend the induction at the next scheduled GMM.

I understand that if I should fail to attend induction within two scheduled sessions my application for membership will automatically be disapproved and all fees will be forfeited. 

CODE OF ETHICS AGREEMENT

As a National Association of Realtors® (NAR) requirement, all new members are required to complete “New Member” Code of Ethics training online at realtor.org. Agents who have completed Code of Ethics training previously must provide proof and that it is current.

I understand that the “New Member” Code of Ethics requirement must be completed within the 30 days from the date application was submitted to the Southwest Louisiana Association of REALTORS®.

4. Compose an email and paste the link to your broker letting them know that they need to click the link, sign, and hit submit.

Your broker MUST hit the submit button or we will not receive it.

You and your office will receive a copy of your application once it has been submitted. It will come to the email address provided in the application.
