Continuing Strings

This class is for students who have taken our beginning orchestra or have at least 2 years of experience and are ready for the next level of instruction. Students continue to practice reading notation and playing parts independently in a group ensemble. This course will focus on skills needed to refine musical development including the use of vibrato, performing extreme dynamics, shifting into 2nd and 3rd position, and playing 2 octave scales. Students will perform music requiring increased technical skill, improve sight reading skills, and prepare for entry into higher level ensembles. Students will learn in-person on Tuesdays 5:00p.m. - 5:50p.m @ Friendship Chapel Baptist Church 237 Friendship Chapel Rd Wake Forest, NC. 27587. Concert is on the last day of class @ 6:00p.m.

Regular rehearsal attendance is important for your student to build confidence as they learn how to play with their ensemble and prepare for their final concert. We understand life happens, and circumstances may arise that are out of your control, but please make every effort to attend all scheduled rehearsals. Performing in the final concert on December 9th is also expected (more than 2 unexcused absences could prevent your student from participating in the concert). Thank you for your cooperation. (This does not include the additional practice/help sessions on select Thursdays.)
