  • 4-H County Award in Community Service

    Your 4-H story should emphasize community service activities from the past 4-H year. You may also refer to motivations and experiences that happened outside of this 4-H year that laid the foundation for your current 4-H involvement. Please keep your story to a length of 150-250 words.
  • 4-H County Award in Project Mastery

    Your 4-H story should emphasize project mastery from the past 4-H year. You may also refer to earlier motivations and experiences that laid the foundation for your current 4-H involvement. Only one project should be included in the below 4-H Story. For award purposes, "project" is defined as those areas of enrollment as listed in the Illinois Project Guide, formerly referred to as the Illinois 4-H Clover. Please keep your story to a length of 150-250 words.
  • 4-H County Award in Leadership

    Your 4-H story should emphasize leadership skills, including offices held, committees served, programs lead, public presentations on behalf of 4-H, Teen Teaching, etc., from the past 4-H year. You may also refer to earlier motivations and experiences that laid the foundation for your current 4-H involvement. Please keep your story to a length of 150-250 words.
  • 4-H County Award in Communications

    Your 4-H story should emphasize the art of communicating with others, including by not limited to public presentations, 4-H ambassadors, Speaking for Illinois 4-H, presentations to elected officials, television/radio interviews, etc. These activities should be from this past 4-H year. You may also refer to earlier motivations and experiences that laid the foundation for your current 4-H involvement. Please keep your story to a length of 150-250 words.
  • 4-H County Award in Personal Growth

    Your 4-H story should emphasize your own personal growth through participating in the 4-H program. This could include, but is not limited to growth in skills, demonstrated initiative, self-confidence, interpersonal interactions, poise, etc. These activities should be from this past 4-H year. You may also refer to earlier motivations and experiences that laid the foundation for your current 4-H involvement. Please keep your story to a length of 150-250 words.
  • Golden Needle Award

    Your 4-H story should emphasize Clothing and Textiles project mastery from the past 4-H year. You may also refer to earlier motivations and experiences that laid the foundation for your current 4-H involvement. Only one project should be included in the below 4-H Story. For award purposes, "project" is defined as those areas of enrollment as listed in the Illinois Project Guide, formerly referred to as the Illinois 4-H Clover. Please keep your story to a length of 150-250 words.
  • Top 10 First Year 4-H Member Award

    First year members (ages 8 to 14). Selection is based on a completed 4-H Story emphasizing Community Service, Communications, Leadership, Personal Growth, or Project Mastery along with the below essay outlining why you should be considered for being a top first year member.
  • Mary Miller Award

    The Mary Miller Memorial Award was created by her husband, Mr. Otto Miller to be presented in her memory. Mary Miller was a long time 4-H leader and 4-H supporter. To qualify for this award, the 4-H members must 8-12 years of age (4-H age), be enrolled in a food and nutrition project for the first time. Up to ten awards are available in this category because Mr. Otto Miller had ten living daughters when he established this award.
