1. Management and administration
The workshops as well as the subsequent European Championship are conducted by Dr. phil. Dr. paed. Gert Mittring, Bonn. Mr. Mittring is assisted by Pascal Kaul and other mental calculation experts.
Dr. Dr. Mittring. Dr. Dr. Gert Mittring has the sole responsibility for the conduct of the championship.
2. Organisation of the event
The Parents' Association of Highly Gifted Children (EHK), Switzerland, provides support in the organisation of the event.
Applications for participation in the workshops and the championship are possible until 1 March 2021. Those who have applied and are interested in participating will be notified by the end of March at the latest whether they can participate. The number of places is limited.
Should the number of application exceed the capacity limit, the organisers will decide on participation in the event. Applicants should for this reason indicate in the application whether they have already participated in competition or championships in mental calculation and other mental sports disciplines.
4. Participation of minors
In the case of minors, participation requires the consent of their legal guardians.
In addition, a minor needs to be accompanied by a legal guardian or authorised adult.
The duty of supervision for underage participants remains with the legal guardian or the accompanying person. The organisers do not assume any oversight obligation.
5. Participation fee
The participation fee is CHF 100 and includes meals (lunches, snacks), participation in the workshops on Thursday and Friday, as well as participation in the championship and participation in accompanying programme (tours, lectures, etc.).
The participation fee must be paid once the confirmation of registration (expected to sent around end March) no later than 15 April 2021: has been received into the following account:

Students with a great interest in mental calculations should be able to participate even if they cannot afford the participation and/or the trip to Basel. In this case, please contact the EHK (email@example.com). The organizers will seek to obtain a reduction of the participation fee with the help of funds from donors or sponsors.
Participation in the event, the workshops and the championship, as well as the arrival and departure to/from the venue, is at participants´ own risk and peril.
Participants and guardians, as well as the adult accompanying persons, are advised that in order to participate in the competition and the entire programme, they should have a generally good state of health.
The organizers shall not be liable for any damage of any kind caused by the participant or an accompanying person during the event to the property of third parties and/or to third parties.
Participants must have their own health and accident insurance as well as private liability insurance (including rental and care damage).. Please also consider adequate insurance in the event of an accident or in the event that you have to cancel your trip. In cases of contractual and non-contractual liability, the organisers shall not pay any compensation.
The instructions of the organisers must be followed at all times. Participants who disturb the event by their behaviour can be excluded from the further participation in the workshop and the mental calculation championship. The participation fee will not be refunded in such case.
7. Hygiene rules
Participants and accompanying persons are obliged to comply with the applicable hygiene rules of the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) as well as the instructions of the organizers or hosts.
Visits to the premises are prohibited for participants and accompanying persons with symptoms of illness, in case of suspected contagion with communicable diseases and/or where the person is subject to a mandatory quarantine.
A risk of contagion cannot be completely excluded even if the hygiene rules are adhered to. The organizers exclude any liability in this regard.
Each participant must organise and pay for their own accommodation.

The participants or, in the case of minors, their legal guardians agree by sending in this registration that the personal data (first and last name, information on address, date of birth, e-mail address and telephone number) may be stored and processed by the organisers for purposes of communication in connection with the European Mental Calculation Championship.
A transfer to third parties is excluded. The consent to the storage and processing of the personal data, the e-mail address as well as their use for sending the information can be revoked at any time by the participant or his/her legal guardian, by e-mail.
To do this, send an e-mail to email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org. After revocation, the personal data collected for the aforementioned purpose will be deleted.
10. Documentation of the event, films and photos
The organisers document the event may take photos or videos. It is possible that these will be published on the website of the organisers and used in publications documenting the event in particular in report for sponsors or other publications.
It is also possible that journalists attend the event and conduct interviews or take photos.
