• Kappa Alpha Psi Scholarship Application Form

  • Read and follow the instructions carefully prior to submitting your application.  

    This scholarship is awarded by the Sacramento Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. Our fraternal values include training for leadership, support of higher educational purposes, and service in the public's interest.

     

    Eligibility:

    • Must be a high school senior from the Sacramento region
    • Must enroll as a full-time college student*
    • Must maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50

    * Awardees must present certified proof of full-time enrollment to receive scholarship funds.

     

    How to Apply

    Complete this online form and submit. 

    If selected, you may be asked for documentation to support the information you provide. Likewise, all correspondence and award agreements will be generated from the personal information submitted below. As such, be sure to use proper spelling, capitalization and punctuation.

    All applications must be submitted no later than 11:59 pm on April 2nd, 2021.

  • This application is organized into six sections, and requires the following:

    6. Verification documents

    To complete the application, students will need the following:

    • Contact information for Guidance Counselor (phone number & email address)
    • Electronic copies of the following documents:
      • Personal essay (maximum 2 pages, double-spaced, 11 point font) 
      • Letter of recommendation from faculty or counselor, on official letterhead
      • High School transcripts

    Documents can be saved in a variety of formats, and must be 1 MB or smaller in size*. Be sure to verify that the document is legible. We recommend saving as a PDF (portable document file), or a popular image file format such as PNG or JPEG.

    * Typically, an image resolution setting of 150 - 200 dpi creates a document that is readable without creating a file size that is too large.

  • What are your dreams of the future? When you look back on your life in thirty years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful? What people, things, and accomplishments do you need? How does this particular scholarship fit into your plans for the future?  

    Your essay should be no more than two pages long (about 600-800 words).
