Join us Fridays in September from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. via Zoom for an hour of education and informal discussion. Listen, ask questions, and have some lunch nearby! You will receive a ZOOM link after registering.
Friday, September 18th: Communication & Dementia - This Lunch & Learn will include information for care partners on how brain changes throughout the dementia journey require us to adapt our existing communication skills and styles when speaking and engaging with people living with dementia. Communication skills such as validation, person-centered language, ‘show and talk’, and non-verbal forms of communication will be discussed.
Friday, September 25th: Understanding Self-Care - This Lunch & Learn will include information on effective self-care. We know that self-care is important, but we often don’t discuss what self-care truly is, or how to use it correctly. This session will focus on how to recognize your needs, discern what meaningful self-care looks like, and how to implement effective strategies to combat burnout and caregiver fatigue. We will also practice a short breathing exercise and a mindfulness meditation.
