Dear Parent/Guardian:
As technology plays an ever-increasing role in students' daily lives, schools have an opportunity to utilize new and emerging technologies to feature student achievement, showcase examples of student work, and train faculty, staff, and students using "Best Practice" examples. During the school year, Pocahontas School District will utilize technology to feature stduents, to promote academic achievement, and to create professional learning opportunities for our staff. Additionally, the District will seek to utilize technology to prepare students for the role technology will play in their career and postsecondary educational plans.
As indicated in the Pocahontas Public School District's policies, a student's name and photograph will only be displayed on the district or school's website after receiving written permission from the student's parent or from the student himself/herself if over the age of 18. Please complete the information on the following page to indicate your consent for your student. The photo or video footage may be used for the following purposes:
- Feature students for special honors, recognitions, or awards.
- Promote outstanding work or student effort.
- Demonstrate "Best Practices" teaching and learning evidence for Professional Development trainings.
If you have questions or concerns, you may contact the office at your child's school.
Thank you for your support of technology in the Pocahontas Public School System.
