    In The Middle is excited to offer 2 scholarships to the children of cancer survivors, the Laurin Long Bank Scholarship and the Nichel Holland-Swindler Scholarship.

     

  • SCHOLARSHIP CRITERIA

    Laurin Long Bank Scholarship - $1000

    • Must be the child of a parent who died from cancer
    • Must demonstrate financial need
    • Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 grade point average
    • Must be a high school senior accepted to a four-year college or university or currently attending a four-year college or university
    • Must have an official transcript or letter of acceptance from a four-year college or university
    • In order to receive the scholarship, must agree that In The Middle can use your likeness in promotional material

    Nichel Holland-Swindler Scholarship - $500

    • Must be the child of a parent diagnosed with breast cancer
    • Must demonstrate financial need
    • Must be in good academic standing with a minimum 2.5 grade point average
    • Must be a high school senior accepted to a four-year college or university or currently attending a four-year college or university
    • Must have an official transcript or letter of acceptance from a four-year college or university
    • In order to receive the scholarship, must agree that In The Middle can use your likeness in promotional material 

    ESSAY REQUIREMENT
    The essay must be typed and double-spaced (if uploaded via the online form) or typed in the space provided.
    Please answer the following:

    Explain how your parent's battle with cancer impacted your life.  What did you learn about yourself and/or your parent from the experience?

    PROOF OF DIAGNOSIS
    Provide proof of your parent's cancer diagnosis from his/her treating physician or medical facility.  For the Laurin Long Bank Scholarship, also provide a copy of the death certificate.

    DEADLINE
    The application and requested documents must be submitted via the online form by Sunday, August 31st, 2022 at 11:59 PM EST or postmarked by August 31st, 2022, if mailed. Late/incomplete applications will not be accepted. If mailing, send the application and all required documentation to
