Our sisterhood stands as a beacon of light providing public service support to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Douglas, Carroll, and Paulding Counties. Our chapter conducts a wide range of events addressing economic development, educational development, physical and mental health, international awareness, and political involvement.
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., has a membership of over 300,000 predominately African-American, college educated women. The Sorority currently has over 900 chapters located among the United States, Japan, Germany, Bermuda, the Bahamas, South Korea, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Delta Sigma Theta is a private non- profit organization with the purpose of providing beneficial services and programs to promote human welfare. From its formation, the sorority emerged and evolved to clearly establish itself as a public service organization which strives to confront the specific problems not only affecting African-Americans, but women in general and more broadly social issues; thereby benefiting the global community.
DCP Alumnae Chapter strives to provide social and academic enrichment programs for middle and high school students to prepare them for full participation as leaders in the 21st Century. As part of this effort we offer high school students the opportunity to compete for an academic scholarship award.
