Some business owners don't like Yelp.com because of their experiences with bad reviews. Yelp is a platform that prioritizes consumers first. It will not allow deletion of bad reviews, instead it allows businesses to message Yelp to report a review that may violate their policy. Even if a business reports a review, there is not guarantee that Yelp will take down the review.

- Yelp can communicate a reputation for businesses that is built by the consumers of the business. It's important that businesses take Yelp's abilities very seriously. If a business hs disputes, Yelp will allow uploads of evidence.
- Businesses that use Yelp should make time to post updates, interact with reviewers, as well as communicate with Yelp to attempt to resolve issues. For some industries like restaurants, this could be a daily task.
- Yelp can be a great tool in marketing and advertising if the business is willing to be proactive with Yelp.
- For some industries like restaurants, Yelp feels like an absolute must to show menus and pictures. Meanwhile for other industries, there may not be a lot of competition and thus Yelp can be valuable source of leads and customers.
