Is anything free?
Yes, we can offer some items over and above the allocated 10 items, but only if available. These items can include:
- Bread
- Pet food
- Sanitary wear
- Vitamins
Where do these items come from?
We work with a food-giving charity called Fareshare who supplies us on a weekly basis with 250kg of items, these items are passed to Fareshare via the supermarkets. We also ask the community on a weekly basis to donate food to the pantry.
Foodbanks do not charge, where does the fee go to?
Fareshare charges the food pantries to supply them with food. The cost of this is at a massive discount. The monthly fee allowed us to purchase the food from them. Foodbanks will give a household an emergency food pack only after an emergency referral, and this is limited to only a few times per year.
