CALL FOR WORLDBUILDING WISDOM
Are you an expert in building worlds? If so, we would love to include your wisdom in our upcoming book, World Roulette!
World Roulette,
A Book of Fanciful Worlds and Worldbuilding at Random
Kickstarter launches September 1st
Book Produced and Published in Fall 2020.
We are looking for experts in the field, practicing concept artists, art directors, and illustrators, or anyone else versed in creating unique, compelling, and believable spaces to share advice, share creative challenges that work for you when you're creating, or general thoughts and resources on what processes make for good worldbuilding!
We've collaborated with 150 talented folks to create the visuals for a great book of incredible worlds and stories, and now we are looking to build a compendium of knowledge from other passionate individuals on the creative process that will join the visuals as a guide to worldbuilding. Like many of our projects at Light Grey Art Lab, we know the greater community has lots of tips and tricks to share and often times are passionate about assisting others in learning how to grow creatively! If you think you might want to share your knowledge, please take a look below for how to be involved.
If you are interested in sharing your wisdom, please feel free to contribute any of the following things below and we will quote you in the compendium as well as share links to the site of your choice.
• Creative challenges you think help with worldbuilding
• Lists of things to consider when critiquing your world
• Quotes: (such as: the best advice you've ever received, your own personal mantras about worldbuilding, etc)
• Resource lists of great books, artists to watch, or anything else you would put on an "essentials" list for worldbuilding
While we will try to include everyone if possible, we won't know what we can fit until we get to the design -- If we are able to include your wisdom in the book, we will reach out and let you know!
If you know someone that would really enjoy being a part of this community project, please feel free to share the link with them! Thanks in advance! Sincerely, -- Lindsay & Jenny @Light Grey Art Lab
