Thank you for your interest in our spay/neuter program!
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING IN ITS ENTIRETY
The Humane Society of Davidson County (HSDC) does not have a veterinary clinic at our location and we do not do the spay/neuter at our building. Instead, we offer two resources to help locals get their pets spayed/neutered at a lower cost.
The first resource we offer is a $50 voucher to use at local veterinary offices. Pet owners must schedule an appointment with the veterinarian of their choosing and HSDC will cover $50 of the total cost of surgery.
You must call and make an appointment with the veterinarian of your choosing and tell them you would like to use a voucher.
TRANSPORT TO HSP
The second resource we offer is transport of your pet to a a low-cost, high volume spay/neuter clinic in Greensboro, NC (Humane Society of the Piedmont). Pets are transported from our location in Lexington to HSP for surgery and returned the following day back to our building in Lexington.
Transport of pets to HSP takes place on the third Wednesday of every month at 1120 Piedmont Drive, Lexington, NC 27295. IN ORDER TO USE THE TRANSPORT YOU MUST MAKE AN APPOINTMENT BY CALLING (336) 237-0131.
Filling out an application DOES NOT reserve a place for pets on the transport. You must call and schedule an appointment.
All pets using the transport must be vaccinated for Rabies and Distemper (DHPP or FVRCP). IF YOUR PET HAS A CURRENT RABIES CERTIFICATE AND/OR DISTEMPER VACCINE RECORD BRING IT WITH YOU WHEN YOU DROP OFF YOUR PET!!! Please bring a copy instead of the original, as the document may not be returned to you. You may also email your pet's record to email@example.com prior to transport day (please do so at least 24hrs prior to dropping off your pet or we cannot guarantee it will be received).
If you DO NOT HAVE RECORD of your pet being vaccinated for either Rabies and/or Distemper at the time of drop off, regardless of if your pet has been vaccinated before, YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR YOUR PET TO BE VACCINATED AT HSP!
