Purpose of the Scholarship Fund
It is our goal to offer financial assistance to the members of our congregation, providing them with support as they seek continuing education. The funding is offered for any post-secondary education, including technical colleges as well as a four-year degree or any continuing education.
Scholarship Eligibility Requirements
1. Applicant must be an active member of Salem United Church of Christ
2. Applicant must be accepted or enrolled in an accredited college / school
Scholarship Application Instructions
1. Applicant must submit a completed form to Salem United Church of Christ Special Gifts Team by June 30 and/or December 31 for consideration
2. Include a short essay about your chosen field of study and its impact on your future career plans
3. Include a list of other scholarship or grant funding you have received
4. Special Gifts Team will be responsible for the review of applications and approval of grants
Grants will be distributed in $500 increments per semester and will be based on funds available in Special Gifts / Memorial accounts. A maximum of $1,000 will be granted to any individual applicant, per year. The grant is not renewable, but future grants may be applied for, based on need and commitment to continuing education. Application for additional grants by an individual will require a summary of how previous funding was used.
