Privacy and Confidentiality Disclosure & Information Sharing
All information shared within eMotion in Motion workshop sessions is confidential, meaning information will not be shared with a third party without prior consent. There is however limits to confidentiality.
These limits to confidentiality include:
- eMotion in Motion have a duty of care obligations to all clients. It is mandotory to report child abuse and neglect. As specified under Part 5.1 of the Care and Protection of Children Act 2007.
- If eMotion in Motion worshop staff have reasonable belief that the service user is at risk of harm to themselves or others we have a duty of care to report this to a mental health service or to the police.
- If it is disclosed to eMotion & Motion workshop staff that the service user has engaged in a crime or is going to become involved in such an activity, we will need to contact the Police.
Please note: We will always consult with clients prior to any information being shared with a third party such as an external agency including GP, mental health services and key workers. We will only share information with a third party if it is in the clients best interests and we have permission from the service user with regards to issues that do not preset risk but information sharing would be benefical for further support.
