    Required Adult Leadership

For our Middle School camps, you must bring 1 same-sex adult for every 5 same-sex students. You must round up in all cases. For example, if you have 6 female students, you must bring 2 female adults. If you are bringing both male and female students you must bring both male and female adult leaders.

Adult leaders from churches must be at least 21 years of age and may only participate if the church has met the required number of adults who are eligible drivers. Minimum age for eligible driver is 25 years of age.

Students will be housed according to their birth sex, and likewise will be required to participate in gender-specific activities and use restroom and shower facilities in accordance with their birth sex.

Bring an Adult Leader for FREE! JP needs skilled adult leaders who can lead more complex construction projects at the work sites. Each church may bring 1 adult leader at no charge with the understanding that this person will provide knowledgeable construction leadership on the work site and will also serve as one of the church's chaperones at camp. This adult cannot be an additional leader beyond the 1:5 ratio required. You will have an opportunity prior to your second payment to inform us if you will be bringing an adult who will serve in this capacity. Your second payment will reflect a credit for this adult.

    9. "Tag-Teaming" Fee. I understand that JP requires all participants to remain in camp the entire week. This policy applies to adult leaders as well. 11. Arrival/Departure Policy. I understand that JP requires all participants to arrive between 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday with their mission team and remain in camp until the camp week concludes at 10:00am on Saturday. 12. Adult Work Team Leaders. I understand that the Jeremiah Project cannot guarantee that two adult leaders will be placed on every work team. Although JP requires background checks for all of our staff 18 years and older, and from all adult church participants, we do not believe it is necessary - nor feasible - to increase the adult to student ratio in order to guarantee two adults per work team.

    13. Required Transportation. The Jeremiah Project requires that each church bring one (1) 7-Passenger (or larger) vehicle for every 7 people. Vehicles must be large enough to seatbelt a 7-member team as well as carry several tools, a large chest cooler and water cooler to the work site each day. Churches are responsible for all vehicle expenses, including fuel. Drivers must be at least 25 years of age. Cars, pickup trucks, and other vehicles that are not able to safely transport a minimum of 7 people are not acceptable.

    14. Cell Phone/Device Policy.  Students are not permitted to have cell phones/devices at JP, with the exception of daytime use on "free day" (Wednesday). We require adult leaders to collect cell phones upon arrival on Sunday. Adults may have cell phones, but we strongly encourage them to use them only when needed.  Exceptions to this policy are for medical reasons where a student needs to have access to their device.

Why?: The Jeremiah Project believes in creating a setting for students to truly "retreat" from the everyday distractions of the world and focus on their relationship with God and be present with those in community while at JP. Cell phones are a major source of distraction and prevent students from fully engaging in the mission and community experience.
