The ACMG Foundation for Genetic and Genomic Medicine's (ACMGF) David L. Rimoin Lifetime Achievement Award in Medical Genetics honors the legacy of Dr. David L. Rimoin, the founding president of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
This distinction annually recognizes an individual whose career exemplifies a lifetime of achievements and the personal qualities embodied by Dr. Rimoin. As the most distinguished of the ACMGF professional awards, only nominees who have made significant contributions to the field of genetics and genomics for more than ten years will be considered. Particularly, this award will honor individuals with Dr. Rimoin's passion for teaching and mentoring, care of patients and their families, and enthusiasm for integrating the medical genetics and genomics community into mainstream healthcare.
The award includes a monetary gift of $10,000, a commemorative keepsake, and complimentary travel to the ACMG Annual Clinical Genetics meeting.
Selection Criteria
This award recognizes individuals with Dr. Rimoin's passion for teaching and mentoring, care of patients and their families, and enthusiasm for integrating the medical genetics and genomics community into mainstream healthcare. Nominees should have demonstrated the personal and professional characteristics of Dr. Rimoin including:
