In accordance with the ACCC guidelines, the decision to repair, replace, warrant, repair for a fee or replace with a similar item, is at our discretion based on our professional assessment of the product and the manufacturer's original guarantees or warranty. This may not always align with the choice you've requested on this form.
Please keep in mind:
- Australian Consumer Law regarding consumer guarantees recommends claiming remedy with the retailer of your goods in the first instance.
- Australian Consumer Law regarding parallel imports (i.e. buying online overseas) is very clear and that although your products may carry a particular global brand name - if it is sold to you as a parallel import (outside of Australia and shipped to Australia), the local distributor may not be required to help you if the product develops a fault, or you may not be able to get assistance such as product/technical support or repair/spare part facilities from the local manufacturer or their representative. In these instances, the Law requires you to contact the overseas seller.
- Additionally if you have purchased your item from a non-authorised dealer (grey importer), you will need to contact that retailer regarding warranty and support. A list of Authorised Dealers is available on this website on the Dealer Locator page.
- Spelean may provide support and assistance locally for the brands we distribute, but please keep in mind our assistance may be limited or incur a service fee because we did not initially sell this product in Australia.
