Supplementary Regulations
JURISDICTION:
Before competing in a New Zealand National event, a rider must have competed in at least SIX MNZ permitted club
events (three for ATV, Intro Motocross and Intro Trail). Proof of this shall be from entries in the riders log book or
APP and can include six one event licences (one for ATV) or proof from results of Electronic Lap scored Events. The
original copies of the licences must be supplied – no reproduction copies.
Mini Riding Classes: These are as outlined in Appendix A. All motorbikes taking part in Mini Motocross must be Homologated, for more information about Homologation refer to Appendix C Homologated bikes can be found on the MNZ website.

ENTRIES/REFUNDS: Rule 5.5a
All entries must be accompanied by the correct fees. If the rider is unable to attend and notifies the Secretary of the
meeting by phone or by written word prior to, but not including the event day or in case of a two day meeting, the
practice day, entry fees to be refunded in full if all passes are returned. In the case of a telephone cancellation written
application must follow, postmarked before the event or practice day.
ACCEPTANCE AND CONFIRMATION:
Entries will not be processed unless entry form is filled out correctly and payment has been received. Confirmed entry list will be on the SWMCC Facebook Page & be available prior to the close off date.
FORCE MAJEURE:
For reasons of Force Majeure, should a meeting or part of a meeting be cancelled any entry fee refunds will be made at the sole discretion of the Organizers. The Organizers reserve the right to alter the meeting format as deemed necessary.
SIGN ON
Will take place on Friday afternoon 3:00 – 5:30pm and Saturday morning 7am – 8am. License, logbook, proof of club membership must be presented, helmets and boots that will be used for racing will also be checked
RIDERS BREIFING
All competitors must attend riders briefing as per rule 6-1. Roll calls will be undertaken, any riders that are called out or not present will be excluded from the event. For riders 16 and under their parent / guardian who signed them into the event must also attend the briefing. A briefing will be held at the start of both mornings.
START:
Will be clutch start behind backward falling gates.
GATE POSITIONS:
Practice/Qualifying – no set gate position, riders will start in front of the gate and be allowed to start under the instruction of the starter
The race secretary will randomly create group 1 and group 2 for qualifying should there be more than 30 entries per class.
Races:
All Classes, Gate selection for riders will be by qualifying position, which will be held for all races. (if you qualify 10th you will have 10th choice for each race)
PRACTICE/QUALIFYING:
Practice & Qualifying will run together and will consist of four laps.
Riders will be randomly selected to leave the start gate and complete a practice lap under Yellow flags.
Qualifying timing will start after crossing the finish line on the completion of their first lap.
A Green flag will be waived to signal qualifying for 3 laps. The rider’s fastest lap time will be used for Qualifying.
RIDER ASSISSTANCE
This is limited to lifting a fallen rider’s machine only and pointing it in right direction and restarting the motor. No outside pushing is permitted to assist the rider. No spectators are to assist a rider nor enter the race track whilst racing is commencing.
CLOSING DATE:
Sunday 27th Sept 2026 (Midnight for received payments)
There will be a minimum of 6 prepaid entries for a class to exist, A maximum of 30 riders per class. If additional entries are received a support class will be formed. Riders 1 – 30 from qualifying on Saturday will form the National class riders 31 onwards will form the support class.
THERE WILL BE NO ENTRIES ACCEPTED ON THE DAY!
TIMING AND RESULTS:
Posted on mylaps and printed on the day (as soon as they are available)
ANIMALS:
No dogs or pets are permitted at any time at this event
CAMPING: Camping available Friday, Saturday Free
Friday and Saturday nights noise curfew of 10pm applies
BIKE NUMBERS:
All bikes must have front/side number or letters on the day to help officials with timing, points scoring, commentary & or stewarding reasons. Duplicate bike numbers will be asked to change their number.
BODY ARMOR:
The rider acknowledges to the wearing of an approved helmet, along with approved boots, gloves, proper mx gear & body armor for the riders protection.
NOISE TESTING:
Bike noise must be to a maximum limit of 96Dba, as per MNZ Regulations.
LAPSCORING:
Electronic lap-scoring will be supplied by Aristocrat Services Ltd using mylaps transponders. Transponders will be allocated and collected at sign on. Both transponders are the responsibility of the competitor – until such time they are returned at the end of racing. Any lost or damaged transponders will be charged ($750.00) to the competitor
RANDOM TECHNICAL INSPECTIONS:
As per MNZ Rule 10.1

Not permitted at Mini Nationals
RACE DURATION:
Maximum 9 minutes plus 1 lap
POINTS
POINTS SCALE: – For all races:
In the event of a tie, overall result will be based on count back as per MNZ Rule 6.7a.
Points will be awarded 1st – 20th placing as follows. 25, 22, 20, 18, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1

1st- 10th Trophies;
11th-30th – Medals
Support class – Medals
HOMOLOGATION
As per MNZ rules, Appendix c
FINAL INSTRUCTIONS
Will be available on the South Waikato MCC Facebook page approximately 48 hours prior to the event. This will provide an update on the event and any additional information for competitors,

At the discretion of the Race Secretary and Clerk of the course, a sight lap may be included if deemed required. This will take place after gate selection. Competitors have 4 min to complete the lap and return to the chosen gate. If a competitor is not back behind the gate they will be locked out. If the competition has the misfortune of technical issues once they have left the gate for the look lap, they may complete repairs to the bike, once the race has started from behind the gate or the mechanics area. They may not change machines.
