Quaifications I have a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology, received from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston, Illinois in 1996. I have a Doctor of Theology degree, received from White Horse School of Ministries in West Lafayette, Indiana, in 1998. I have over 24 years of counseling experience. My current North Carolina license number is #15123. My current Indiana license number is #39001998A. Counseling Background I see people of either gender, of all ages. I have professional experience in working with individuals, couples, and families who experience ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, childhood trauma, and attachment disorders. I utilize techniques common in cognitive behavioral therapy, with the theoretical orientation of “as the brain goes, so the behavior goes”. If one is able to change the way they think, they will be able to change what they believe, and what they do. I have professional training in Trauma Informed Care, parent-child relationship problems, and Reactive Attachment Disorder. Session Fees and Length of Service Initial assessments typically last one hour, and regular sessions are usually 45 minutes, unless the client is very young, then the session would last 30 minutes. I accept cash, check, or credit card. I am paneled with several insurance companies, and will accept co-pays along with insurance reimbursement rates. Fees are subject to change, but are currently as follows: $210.00 Initial Assessment $165.00 Individual session $125.00 Abbreviated session (small child, special circumstance) Family sessions may be charged at a higher rate, depending on the size of the family and the anticipated length of treatment. There may be no-show fees, fees for writing a letter on your behalf, and record copying fees. Use of Diagnosis Some health insurance companies will reimburse clients for counseling services and some will not. In addition, most will require that a diagnosis of a mental health condition, and an indication of an “illness” is present before they agree to reimburse you. Some conditions for which people seek counseling do not qualify for reimbursement. If a qualifying diagnosis is appropriate in your case, I will inform you of the diagnosis before the diagnosis information is submitted to your health insurance company. Any diagnosis made will become a part of your permanent insurance records. Confidentiality All of our communication becomes part of the clinical record, which is accessible to you upon request. I will keep confidential anything you say as a part of our counseling relationship, with the following exceptions: (a) you direct me in writing to disclose information to someone else, (b) It is determined that you are a danger to yourself and/or others (including elder and child abuse), or (c) I am ordered by a court to disclose information.
