Overview
The National HBCU Leading in Truth Symposium is a virtual leadership development experience for 75 LGBTQ HBCU students from November 10 - 12, 2020. By examining historical and current events, this opportunity will provide a foundation for students to implement sustainable change on their campus and in the community from a protest, policy, and program perspective. Students will complete an online application, which includes a submission of a 60-second introduction video. All participants must commit to a minimum of two out of the three days of sessions in order to receive completion certificates and gifts.
Goals
Organize an effective group of LGBTQ HBCU student leaders committed to expanding their own personal leadership skills. | Build an active group of LGBTQ HBCU student leaders to advocate for LGBTQ equality and other social justice issues on campus and in their communities. | Develop a powerful group of leaders who understand the relationship between protest, policy, and programs.
