Kennel Cough Risk Acknowledgement
As of Friday, November 4, 2022, we have seen and treated several confirmed cases of Kennel Cough in our office over the past two weeks. Some of these were patients that boarded with us, while some came from other boarding facilities. While we have been diligently cleaning, disinfecting, and isolating/sending home active cases that have been suspected in our boarding facility, Kennel Cough is airborne and can be difficult to fully eradicate.
The holidays are approaching, and we are quickly filling up with boarding reservations. We wanted to be open and transparent regarding these recent cases and ask that if you have an upcoming reservation and notice that your pet is coughing or sneezing to please reach out prior to your check-in date. In addition to this, if you have an upcoming boarding reservation and have any questions or concerns, please reach out to our office. There is a significant risk of your pet developing respiratory disease after boarding with any facility at this time. If you elect to proceed with boarding your pet, please monitor for signs of coughing, sneezing, retching/vomiting, lethargy, inappetence, etc, for up to 21 days following their reservation.
