    We look at the fascinating history of opioid use and abuse throughout the centuries. An in depth look at how many opioid derivatives were discovered and then introduced to public as safe and effective remedies for pain management. Many claimed that their discoveries were not addictive but rather safe even for use in children for teething. Substances such as morphine, heroin, cocaine were included in those supposedly safe drugs. The lessons we can learn from this two-part presentation are must listen for all prescribers and users of narcotics.
