In order to provide continuity of instruction during the Covid 19 pandemic, the Religious Education Program (REP) of St. Thomas of Villanova Parish in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia will use a combination of recorded weekly lessons and a monthly interactive, in-person virtual classroom provided through Zoom and/or Google Classroom. Parents/guardians who chose the Virtual Program for REP are are expected to supervise their child/children during the scheduled instructional time and in accordance with the parish “netiquette.” Students should keep their camera on so the teacher can view them. Since this is the new learning environment, the background should be free of any inappropriate or distracting images or content. Students should be dressed appropriately. Students will be respectful of the catechist, follow his/her directions, and be participatory in lessons, activities and discussions.
I also understand that my child’s REP session will be recorded and stored on the parish YouTube Channel to be able to be viewed at a later time for students who are not able to join the scheduled REP session time for that session.
My signature below indicates my understanding and acknowledgment of the potential for video and audio recording of my child during virtual REP lessons and activities.
