Tree Removal Permit Logo
  • Tree Removal Permit Application

  • Use this form to apply for a permit to remove a tree within a steep slope zone, aquatic buffer area or protected tree canopy area, as designated on a previously approved development plan that was subject to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Article 19. Please refer to the UDO Article 19 for replanting requirements.

NOTE: If the tree removal falls within a historic district or landmark under the oversight of the Historic Resources Commission (HRC), do not complete this application and instead complete a Certificate of Appropriateness Application. If you are unsure if you are within one of these historic districts or landmarks, please check the Historic Districts map.

If you have questions about whether or not your tree may require a permit, please contact us at pod@ashevillenc.gov or 828.259.5450.
