Thank you for applying to Independence Drive. We are looking forward to helping you achieve your goals. The process of getting your driver's license involves the following steps.
1. All first-time drivers must take the 4-Hour Drug and Alcohol Course and test, AKA Traffic Law and Substance Abuse Education. You will receive a certificate when you pass the test that will allow you to take the permit test.
2. Next step is the learner’s perm test review conducted via Zoom. The study has proven to be very helpful in passing the test on the first try.
3. Your learner’s permit test will be scheduled at the driver's license office. With a passing score, you will immediately receive your permit which allows you to legally be behind the wheel of a vehicle in order to learn how to drive.
4. You will be scheduled for driving lessons and the driving test. Our program coordinator will accompany you to your permit and driving tests.
Please bring the following items with you to your learner’s permit test.
2-proofs of address, such as utility bills, rental lease agreement, voters registration card
- Florida Identification card, passport, or any government-issued photo identification
- Social security card
- Drug and Alcohol Certificate
Thank you, we will be in touch with you shortly via phone.
