  • Cemetery or crematorium details

  • A funeral is a ceremony that has the coffin present.

A direct cremation is an arrangement without friends or families present.

  • The vast majority of direct/unattended cremations are arranged at Macarthur Grange, Smeaton Grange. This is true for families we serve in Sydney, the Central Coast and the Canberra Region.

It is a private crematorium owned by a firm we work with near Narellan, in South Western Sydney.

We have chosen this crematorium, in part, as it is more cost effective and generally easier to arrange to return the ashes to you. However, a direct cremation/unattended can be arranged at another crematorium at an additional cost.

  • ^ With a cremation at Macarthur Grange crematorium, ashes can be sent by Registered Post or collected from our Redfern head office within about a week.

Alternatively, they could be delivered at a time that suits the family and when Salvos Funerals might be available. The ashes can also be sent to another crematorium if they are to be interred there.

All delivery options are at no additional cost.

The crematorium itself is near Narellan and is a private crematorium on a commercial estate, South West of Sydney.

For a cremation at all other crematoriums, the ashes can be collected from the respective location, as required.

  • ^ With a service in the All Souls Chapel at Rookwood General Cemetery, cremation occurs off site at Australian Cremation Services in St Marys. Ashes can be collected from the cemetery normally within a few days.

  • Informant's details

  • This is the person who has provided the information. If the certificate is to be sent to someone else, this can be recorded in the section after this one.

  • Please provide details of where the certificate would need to be sent, after the Applicant's passing. This would normally be the child of the Applicant or a friend or relative who is likely to out live them.

  • Do not enter a PO Box address.

The Registry requires the Informant's street address.

  • Request certificate

  • Additional copies are not normally required and cost extra.

The usual way of getting additional copies is to photocopy the original and have that copy certified by an appropriately qualified person, such as a Justice of the Peace or Pharmacist.
