1. What is the nomination criteria?
All nominees must be 70 years of age by the year nominated in order to be eligible for consideration. Nominees must reside within the greater KC metropolitan area including the following nine counties - in Missouri: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte or Ray County; and in Kansas: Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami or Wyandotte County. Nominees cannot be a prior Honoree.
2. How are the 70 Over 70 honorees selected?
A selection panel, comprised of diverse community members from across the greater Kansas City metropolitan area including 70 Over 70 Alumni, KC Shepherd’s Center staff and volunteers, reviews all nominations. Those nominated should expemplify a spirit of service throughout their lives. Nominees may be currently working or retired. Some may be CEOs, community volunteers, or neighborhood leaders. Others may be engaged in politics or be church leaders. We hope to recieve noiminations for people from all walks of life.
