1. What is the nomination criteria?
All nominees must be 70 years of age or better to be eligible for consideration. Nominees must reside within the greater KC metropolitan area including the following nine counties - in Missouri: Cass, Clay, Jackson, Platte or Ray County; and in Kansas: Johnson, Leavenworth, Miami or Wyandotte County. Nominees cannot be a prior Honoree.
2. How are the 70 Over 70 honorees selected?
A selection panel, comprised of diverse community members from across the greater Kansas City metropolitan area including 70 Over 70 Alumni, KC Shepherd’s Center staff and volunteers, reviews all nominations. Selections are based on review of nomination forms using guidelines that identify nominees who exemplify a spirit of service or create volunteer, social, civic, cultural, charitable or economic value in the community.
