High school seniors are invited to be part of the student panel and scholarship program at the Texas Association of School Boards' 2023 Governance Camp. Five students will be selected to share personal stories about their experiences in Texas public schools. Each selected student will receive a $1,500 scholarship.
The application can be saved and accessed later if you are unable to complete it in one sitting. It can be completed on a computer, tablet, or mobile phone. You must finish the application in its entirety and provide all of the requested information and uploads in order to be considered for the scholarship.
Eligibility Requirements
You must be a currently enrolled high school senior in a Texas public high school.
You must commit to attend and participate in the 2023 Governance Camp.
- Thursday, March 2: Panel practice and dinner function (5:30–9 p.m.)
- Friday, March 3: First General Session/breakfast/panel
If you are selected, you must provide a current photo in JPEG format and other media-related items in the same format as received (no Google documents, etc.) by the deadline set by TASB.
Application submission deadline is 5:00 p.m. CT on January 13, 2023. - DEADLINE EXTENDED TO JANUARY 18, 2023.

All correspondence from TASB will be through email.
The selection committee will base its decision entirely upon the information you provide, and no additional materials will be considered.
Applicants will be notified of their acceptance no later than Tuesday, January 31, 2023.
Each selected student panelist is encouraged to invite up to two people to attend the conference with them. Hotel accommodations will be paid for and secured by TASB at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort, 5400 Seawall Blvd., Galveston, TX, 77551. The panelists will be reimbursed up to $500 for additional travel expenses.
Selected students must complete a Form W-9 upon arrival at the Hilton Galveston Island Resort.
Details about the dinner, panel, and accommodations will be sent to the selected student panelists in February.
