    TED-Ed Student Talks Program
  • If you are a high school student or young adult (age 18-20) and enjoy playing video games, please join us in the TED-Ed Student Talks program! We want to hear your ideas, help you develop a talk, and share your perspective with the world as it relates to your experiences playing video games online and with your friends. The top talks will be featured on the TED-Ed platform and at the 2021 Games for Change Festival. 


    This FREE program will be hosted in Zoom which will require you to have access to a computer or device with WiFi or a stable internet connection.

    It will place virtually on Wednesdays from 4:00pm - 5:30pm EST on the following dates: 

    JANUARY 20th and 27th
    FEBRUARY 3rd, 10th, and 24th
    MARCH 3rd, 10th, 17th, and 24th
    APRIL 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th 
    ** We will skip February 17 (midwinter recess) and March 31 (spring break) 

    MAY & JUNE TED-Ed will select 5 students to receive additional coaching and support.

  • Please upload a short video (1-2 minutes) to help us get to know you a bit better. Introduce yourself, why you want to participate in this program and answer another 3-5 questions from the list below: 

    1. Some of your favorite video games.
    2. Any favorite stories about playing video games with your friends or family.
    3. Describe why video games are important to you.
    4. Do you identify yourself as a gamer? 
    5. What is a gamer?
    6. Who do you game with?
    7. Who are members of your community?
    8. Who sets the norms of gaming? 
    9. Who has power in gaming? 

    These videos will not be shared publically and only used to evaluate participation.
