A Leave of Absence (LOA) is a period of non-enrolment where the student has the intention to return to their studies at the end of the authorised period.
A LOA is counted towards the maximum time required to complete the course and does not allow any additional time to complete the course. When applying for a LOA, it is the student’s responsibility to ensure that they have enough time to complete the course of study before its time limit is reached.
If a student does not return following an approved LOA they are considered to have withdrawn from study.

A single LOA is for one Semester during the course of study. A LOA cannot exceed two consecutive semesters. A maximum of four LOAs can be applied for during a course of study.
