Polish Canadian Cultural Club Membership Requirement

All dancers joining the Polonia Polish Folk Dance Ensemble are required to hold a valid membership with the Polish Canadian Cultural Club. The Polish Canadian Cultural Club provides essential funding to help keep registration fees for the Ensemble affordable.

Polish Canadian Cultural Club Membership Fees:

Individual dancer: $10.00 per year.
Family membership: $20.00 per year (covers all dancers in the same family). If you have more than one dancer in your household, please select the family membership option. The fee only needs to be applied once. Additional dancers from the same family are included at no extra cost. 

REFUND POLICY

New dancers are entitled to the first month of training as a trial period. If, during that first month, a dancer decides not to continue, a full refund will be provided.

Once the one-month trial period has expired, no refund will be issued.

The Polonia Polish Folk Dance Ensemble of Regina reserves the right to refuse enrollment and/or dismiss a participant if it is in the best interest of the individual and/or the program. In the event of dismissal, a pro-rated refund will be issued.

 

COSTUMES

The dance group provides all costumes and dance boots. In the event of any damage or loss, dancers are responsible for covering the full replacement cost of the costume. (Complete costume care and maintenance instructions can be found in the Polonia Handbook, which will be distributed upon registration.) 

 

FUNDRASING EVENTS AND ADDITIONAL SUPPORT

Throughout the dance season, the group will host several fundraising events to help cover expenses, such as costume and boot repairs or replacements, transportation, and other travel-related costs for performances. It is expected that all dancers/parents partake in these events and/or activities.

 

CLASS ATTIRE

The dance practices have standard class attire, so please note the following:

• T-shirt
• Black ballet or jazz slippers (dancer’s expense)
• Practice skirt for female dancers (provided by the dance group)
• Runners, jeans, and other similar non-stretchable and non-breathable clothing will not be allowed.
• Hair is to be pulled back off the face in a ponytail/braid/bun or by a headband.

 

DANCE PRACTICE EXPECTATIONS

• Students are required to be on time and in proper dance attire for all classes.
• Dancers should always have a water bottle and may bring a healthy, nut-free snack (please avoid any sugary treats).
• Dancers are to be dropped off 5-10 minutes before practice and picked up on time.
• If students are not able to attend a class, please indicate that on the TeamLinkt app.
• Electronics are not allowed at practice.
• Gum chewing is not permitted.
• Appropriate and respectful behaviour is expected at all times.

RELEASE AND WAIVER FORM

I am aware that the participation in dance rehearsals and performances for Polonia Polish Folk Dance Ensemble (Polonia) is voluntary, and involves inherent risk during participation, including the risk of possible accidents, physical injury,  as a result of attending and participating in dance. I freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers, and hazards, including but not limited to personal injury, death, property damage, or loss, resulting from the participation of the Participant. I have carefully considered the risks involved, and I have full confidence that reasonable precautions will be taken to ensure the safety and well-being of the Participant. 

In consideration of Polonia permitting my participation in rehearsals and performances, I hereby voluntarily agree as follows:

1. To assume and accept, as represented above, all risks, dangers, and hazards in connection with my participation in Polonia rehearsals and performances.

2. To waive any and all claims, legal, equitable, or otherwise, that I may have against Polonia, its directors, officers, staff, employees, agents, representatives, and insurers (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Polonia”);

3. To release Polonia from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury, or expense that I or my next of kin, successors, or dependents may suffer or incur as a result of my participation in the Polonia rehearsals and performances due to any cause whatsoever.

4. That this release and waiver agreement shall be effective and binding upon me, my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, and assigns, in the event of my death;

5. To obey warning signs, if any, and other notices/instructions/regulations posted within the rehearsal facilities, or printed and/or emailed to participants.

6. Images and videos can be taken/recorded during practices and events where Polonia participates. I give my permission to use any images and/or movies that show me on the Polonia website (http://www.poloniaregina.com), Social Media, and materials related to the promotion of Polonia.

7. I give my permission to use my email address to send information related to Polonia.

I have read and understood this Release and Waiver Agreement and the conditions of its operation and use prior to signing it and am aware that by signing this document, I am affecting the legal rights and liabilities of myself, my heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, and assigns in relation to Polonia.
