ELIGIBILITY

Applicant must be a resident within the City of Canning

Applicant must be aged 18 years or over

Gathering must be hosted within the City of Canning
GUIDELINES

Funding must only be used for food and supplies
-
Receipts may be called upon so please keep a copy

Must be small gatherings with a maximum of 30 people permitted on the verge/driveway of a private residence
-
People participating in the event should be from the immediate neighbourhood/street
-
There must be no charges for participants at the gathering

Hosts must complete a brief evaluation (preferably with some photos) within two weeks of hosting your event

A limited number of applications per month will be approved, the City may negotiate alternate dates with successful applicants.

Only one application per immediate neighbourhood/street may be approved by the City.
SECURITY
The City of Canning has a 24hr service available for difficulties regarding security.

CONDUCT AND NOISE

The applicant shall be responsible for the management, supervision and the proper conduct of their guests at all times

The applicant will be responsible for payment of any costs associated with damage or vandalism caused to the street or surrounds by any person during the gathering period.

Council has the right to decline future bookings if the applicant does not exercise reasonable control over their guests attending or leaving the gathering. Such incidents may also result in reports made to the police.

The applicant must observe general noise levels during the gathering.

Music must be kept to a respectable level and must cease at the end of the approved gathering time.

The applicant is responsible for ensuring steps are taken to minimise noise levels from their use of the street, reduction of music levels, and control of noise.

Noise from the event is not to be offensive to the adjoining neighbours.
CONSUMPTION OF LIQUOR
It is an offence in Western Australia for persons of any age to drink in public, such as on the street, park or beach. PENALTY: $200 infringement or maximum $2000 fine.

The consumption of alcohol must remain within your residence.

The applicant is responsible for ensuring that their guests do not consume alcohol outside of residential property or in the surrounding areas (including car parks, the street, footpaths, parks etc).

Failure to do so may result in the early closure of the gathering.
INDEMNITY AND INSURANCE
Driveway Do's are NOT covered by the City.
The applicant is liable for all property damage and personal injury or death to third parties arising out of negligent acts or omissions by the applicant. As such the Applicant shall indemnify the City of Canning against;
(i) Loss of or damage to property of the City of Canning, including existing property;
(ii) Claims by any person against the City of Canning arising out of or as a consequence of the actions of the applicant.
