Investigate Nature Backpacks

Missouri Botanical Garden Members: For this special product, members receive seed packets in honor of their support, but member discount benefits do not apply. 

All you need to explore!  These supplies will encourage nature exploration and discovery!  Inspired by years of school and family programs, the Nature Reserve staff developed these backpacks to help make your child's visit even more fun and educational.  

Kits are designed for one child.  Recommended ages 6 to 10 years old.

String backpack includes: Backpack Explorer: On the Nature Trail book, SNR water bottle, magnifying lens, magnifying jar, tweezers, pencil, tape measure, string, spoon, journal, activity suggestions, SNR trail map, and poison ivy identification information. 

Owls are such interesting birds, the Shaw Nature Reserve Education team put together some fun activities and information about owls for you to discover the world of Missouri Owls.

Kits are designed for one child.  Recommended ages 6-12 years old.

String backpack includes: Owls by Gail Gibbons, Stuffed Great Horned Owl, 2 owl pellets, tweezers, magnifying lens, matching game, measuring string, pencil, DIY owl mask, activity guide including fortune teller activity, and owl poster provided by Missouri Department of Conservation.  

Prairies are unique ecosystems, much more than tall grass! We are so fortunate that there is a prairie at Shaw Nature Reserve to explore and investigate. Won’t you please join us? Kits are designed for one child.  Recommended ages 6-12 years old.
