  • Registration for OCIA Adapted for Children

For children age 7-14 who are not baptized Catholic and wish to be initiated into the Catholic Church
  • OCIA refers to the "Order of Christian Initiation for Adults." In the past it was also called "RCIA." It is the pathway of initiation for all unbaptized persons who have reached the age of discretion (7 years and older).

We adapt this process for children according to their stage of development. However, the essential elements are the same for both children and adults entering the Church.

    Catechumens:

Once prepared, unbaptized children (7+) and unbaptized adults receive full sacramental initiation into the Catholic Faith during the Easter Vigil Mass: Baptism, Confirmation, & Holy Communion.

    Candidates:

Children and adults who have already been validly baptized in another Christian tradition are initiated through their profession of the Catholic Faith and the reception of both Confirmation and Holy Communion at the earliest opportunity.
