  • This extension is available if you earn less than $10,000 in fees per year from issuing Watercraft inspection reports. If this cover is selected, your Liability Insurance policy can be extended to cover “error & omission” claims made against you where the customer alleges a financial loss as a result of your advice. 

    Example: a pre-purchase motor inspection is done by a marine mechanic. Two weeks after purchase the owner discovers a motor problem that will cost $50,000 to repair. The customer claims that the marine mechanic should have spotted the problem.

    Coverage under this extension will be issued on a claims-made basis. This means that the policy will only respond if it is in place at the time you first receive notice of a claim being made against you for a past report that you prepared.  Reports that you have prepared prior to arranging this extension of cover are not covered by this policy. Full details of the cover are included in the Policy Wording which is available upon request.

     This following conditions apply:

    1. Cover is provided for claims made against you relating to your Watercraft inspection reports.
    2. The standard report that you issue to your customer must contain a set of standard terms and conditions which include your disclaimer & liability clauses.
    3. No cover is provided for reports that you have prepared prior to the start date of this extension.
    4. No cover is provided for Vessel valuations or statistical and market information where finance is being raised.
    5. Cover is only available if you do not expect to earn more than $10,000 during the period of insurance from issuing Watercraft inspection reports.

     If you accept this extension of cover your schedule will include:

    Errors & Omissions Sublimit:     $500,000 per claim and in the aggregate during the period of insurance

    Deductible/Excess:                    $5,000 each claim
    Insured Services:                       Inspection Reports on Watercraft up to 25m in length, Ship Repairer and/or Marine Operator and including associated design,repair,installation and maintenance work carried out on Watercraft and the ownership, tenancy and use of premises or car parks.
    Retroactive Date:                        Inception date of this extension 

  • OPTIONAL COVER - STATUTORY LIABILITY

  • This extension covers you for Fines & Penalties in relation to OH&S and Pollution. If this cover is selected, your Liability policy can be extended to cover fines and penalties against you for breaches of legislation. Please note that Work Health & Safety fines are no longer insurable in NSW, however the policy can still cover legal costs in many cases.

    Coverage under this extension will be issued on a claims made basis. This means that the policy will only respond if it is in force at the time you first receive notice of a claim. Incidents that have occurred prior to arranging this extension are not covered by this policy.

    This extension is issued subject to the cover being provided for fines and penalties relating to your work as Ship Repairer and/or Marine Operator and including associated design, repair, installation and maintenance work carried out on Watercraft and the ownership, tenancy and use of premises or car parks. Full details of the cover are included in the Policy Wording which is available upon request.

    If you accept this extension of cover your schedule will include:

    Statutory Liability Sublimit:        $500,000 per claim and in the aggregate during the period of insurance

    Deductible/Excess:                     $5,000 each claim

     Insured Services:                       Ship Repairer and/or Marine Operator and including associated design,repair,installation and maintenance work carried out on Watercraft and the ownership, tenancy and use of premises or car parks.

    Retroactive Date:                        Inception date of this extension

  • OPTIONAL COVER - TOOLS OF TRADE

  • This extension is available to cover your work-related tools, plant and equipment (including diagnostic equipment) anywhere in Australia against physical loss or damage. If you accept this extension of cover your schedule will include:

    Tools of Trade Sublimit:          Amount selected of either $5,000 or $10,000
    Limit any one item:                  $2,000 per item (unless item is specified)
    Deductible/Excess:                 $250 any one claim
    Insured Equipment:                 Implements, business tools, machinery or plant or equipment including diagnostic equipment being the personal property of your directors,partners,proprietors,officers,executives, employees or named subcontractors.

  • OPTIONAL COVER - YOUR WATERCRAFT (WORKBOATS)

  • This extension is available to cover your workboats (including trailer and motor) anywhere in Australia against physical loss or damage and including coverage for on-water Liability exposures. If you accept this extension of cover your schedule will include:

    Sum Insured:                  Material Damage: Market Value or sum insured whichever is the lesser

                                             Liability: $10,000,000 any one occurrence 

    Deductible/Excess:       $500 all claims for vessels less than $10,000 sum insured or, $1,000 all claims for vessels less than $20,000 sum insured

  • YOUR DUTY OF DISCLOSURE

    Before You enter into a contract of general insurance with Us, You have a duty, under the Insurance Contracts Act 1984, to disclose to Us every matter that You know, or could reasonably be expected to know, is relevant to Our decision whether to accept the risk of the insurance and, if so, on what terms.You have the same duty to disclose those matters to Us before You renew, extend, vary or reinstate a contract of general insurance. 

    Your duty however does not require disclosure of matter that diminishes the risk; is of common knowledge; or that we know or ought to know.

    Non-disclosure

    If You fail to comply with Your duty of disclosure, we may be entitled to reduce our liability under the contract in respect of a claim or may cancel the contract. If Your non-disclosure is fraudulent, we may also have the option of voiding the contract from its beginning.

    I declare that to the best of my knowledge and belief, the answers given above and documents submitted represent the true position, and that I have not withheld any material information from this proposal. I agree that this proposal and any accompanying documents shall form or partly form the basis of the contract proposed
