  • Acorn Centre - Group Pole Dance Classes

    Pole class packing checklist

    • Face covering (for entry exit to the building)
    • Hand sanitizer (if you prefer to use your own, please ensure it has a minimum alcohol content of 60%)
    • Phone (for scanning QR code on entry)
    • Plastic/cloth bag for outdoor shoes
    • Bag with zip for outdoor clothes
    • Water bottle
    • Pole grip (if required)
    • Pole shoes (if required)
    • Notepad/pen (if required)

In order to protect students and staff, please note the changes we have made to the class environment

    • Classes will have a minimum gap of 15 minutes between clients to allow for cleaning and so that there is no cross over of students between classes.
    • The pole, base and safety mat (where applicable) will be cleaned with 70% alcohol by the students between turn taking. Safety mat use will initially be at a minimum as taught moves will focus on rebuilding the basics which are within your existing repertoire and should not require a mat.
    • Outside footwear should be removed on entry to the pole studio room and carried by hand inside. You are advised to bring a plastic/cloth bag to put your shoes into. You are advised to arrive for class in your exercise clothing, with minimal belongings that can be placed into a closed bag. Only pole grip, a drink bottle and phone/notepad/pen should be kept in your personal tray for use during class (this will be provided to you).
    • On entry to the studio you will select a personal tray. Please remove outdoor clothing next to this tray, placing it into a bag which will then be closed. You may place pole grip/phone, notepad/pen into your personal tray. Keeping the tray in the same place (this will be your marker of where to stand after the warm up), please then place your bag of outdoor clothes into the recess next to the sliding studio doors until the end of class.
    • Please observe social distancing at all times while inside the studio and return to your tray between taking turns with your pole partner.
    • Dance heels should be for studio use only (not outdoor shoes or for use in a club environment to reduce the risk of contamination) and thoroughly cleaned with anti-bacterial cleaner before use.
    • All students will be provided with their own cloth sprayed and a bottle of 70% rubbing alcohol at the start of class, along with a small container tray.
    • No stretch mats will be provided, please bring your own.
    • Handwashing/toilet facilities are available and hand sanitiser should be used on entry and exit.
    • Spotting and turntaking - the pole must be cleaned between different students taking turns, with high percentage alcohol. Movements taught will be scaffolded to allow for safe progression, without spotting, but with the use of a safety mat as necessary.
    • We understand that you may feel more confident trying new moves with a spotter, however do expect classes initially to focus on rebuilding strength and recapping moves.
